A Government that responds to the needs of its people,  Zulum in action 


The government of Borno state under the leadership of Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, the executive governor of Borno state,  has commenced the rehabilitation of the busy post office area in the Maiduguri. metropolitan which were was completely taken over by water after heavy rainfall on Saturday,  19 June 2021.

The state government have reconstructed and overly the dilapidated dual highway road from Horse Roundabout along with Musa Usman Secretariat to the main post office roundabout.

The existing narrow drainage was demolished as it can’t contain the capacity of the excess water flow on the area, hence causing water overflow in the entire area.

 A new bigger Culvert with a higher capacity to contain the water of the central area is under construction to channel the water to the sand kyari Park zoo Bridge, Workers can be seen relentlessly working from the office up to the high court main gates opposite BRTV station.


The administration has also recently reconstructed and overlaid the nearby dual-medium road linking shehu laminu way from Water house to Damboa road, police Commissioners office junction to the Bolori roundabout in other to ease the suffering of people and mitigate traffics into the area and reduce rates of possible accidents.


With the new bigger drainage under construction, water overflow will be avoided, as water would be directly channelled from the post office to the Zoo Bridge, and will enable people to go about their normal activities in the area after rainfall without much adore, and also ease the difficulty of commercial vehicles experienced by people in the area during or after rainfall due to the bad state of the place which has now become a thing of the past with the efforts of the state government.
