Abba clinches Yobe’s NUJ Correspondents’ chapel chairman

The Correspondents’ Chapel of the Yobe State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has re-elected Ahmed Isah Abba of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) as chairman for a three-year tenure in office.
According to the union, the re-election of Abba has reflected the confidence reposed in his leadership and the vision in the journalism profession in the state and Northeast region.
During the inauguration ceremony held on Tuesday in Damaturu, Abba expressed gratitude to God, the Chapel electoral committee, NUJ leadership, and the entire membership of the Correspondents’ Chapel for their support and trust in his leadership in the journalism profession.
Abba highlighted the priorities during his tenure, including the promotion of unity, a commitment to the ethics of journalism, and the adoption of emerging technologies to improve global media practices.
He also reiterated the importance of accountability and the forward-looking approach of the Chapel’s roles to drive the socio-economic development of the state.
Besides the transparency and trust in reporting, he said, “I vowed to build on the accomplished achievements in the last three years.”
He is assuring them that he will overcome the challenges that lie ahead of the working journalists in the state.
Abba noted that dedication to diligence, fairness, and accountability are pledges that could sustain Yobe’s economic growth and development.
