Army, Police collaborate to tackle insecurity, two others in Borno

The Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) of the Nigerian Army and the Police have collaborated to continue fighting terrorism, kidnapping, and other criminal activities in Borno State.
The synergy in the insurgency fight was unveiled yesterday by the Police Commissioner, Naziru Abdulmajid, during his courtesy visit to the Theatre Commander, OPHK, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, and the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Brig-Gen. Ugochukwu Unachukwu at the Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.
Abdulmajid’s visit is part of his engagements with critical security agencies following his assumption of duty as the 43rd commissioner of police in the state.
He expressed appreciation to the theatre commander and the GOC for their unwavering commitment towards the restoration of peace and security in Borno.
The police chief also stressed the need for continued collaboration between the military and police in protecting people’s lives and property.
Highlighting the importance of existing synergy, Abdulmajid stated, “The collaborative efforts of the military, police, and other security agencies could bring an end to the 16-year Boko Haram insurgency in Sambisa Forest and the Lake Chad region, comprising Nigeria, Chad, Niger, and Cameroon.
General Abubakar congratulated the commissioner on his new appointment and assured him of the Theatre Command’s collaborative support to the police.
He also reaffirmed the military’s commitment to fostering joint operations in strengthening an inter-agency synergy in the fight against terrorism, kidnapping, and other crimes.
Similarly, during the visit to the GOC, General Abubakar pledged the continued collaboration of the Nigerian Army with the police in enhancing a cordial relationship in the ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the state.
