Army Spokesman Hails Promotion of Officers as Result of Diligence, Professionalism

Director of Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu has emphasized that promotion in the military is a direct result of diligence and professionalism. He made this statement during the investiture ceremony of senior officers promoted to the rank of Major at the Army Headquarters Conference Room in Abuja on October 7, 2024.
Majors Audu Arigu and Akinola Ajibola were recognized for their versatility, diligence, and resilience, which have significantly contributed to the Directorate of Army Public Relations (DAPR).
General Nwachukwu attributed their success to their spouses and family members, urging them to sustain their drive and zeal.
Former Defence spokesman, Major General Chris Olukolade (rtd), and former Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman (rtd), advised the newly promoted officers to maintain utmost professionalism in projecting the DAPR’s values and mission.
Major Audu Arigu expressed gratitude to God, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, and other senior officers, pledging continuous discipline and professional conduct to enhance the DAPR’s efforts and promote the Nigerian Army’s image.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including former Director Defence Information/Director Army Public Relations, Major General Chris Olukolade (rtd), and former Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI), Colonel Mustapha Anka (rtd). The event concluded with a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
