Bauchi Fertilizer plan, PFI to produce 30, 000 tonnes this year’s farming season.

The Bauchi state fertilizer company with the support of Presidential Fertilizer Initiative (PFI) to produce 30,000 metric tonnes of NPK fertilizer in the 2021 farming season.
The Executive chairman of the company, Alhaji Bappa Misau disclosed this in an interview with
Journalists on Wednesday in Bauchi.
He said the initiative would be beneficial to the farmers and also grow the economy through the production of NPK 20-20 Fertilizers using locally sourced materials.
Misau said the PFI would provide raw materials to the blending plan for the production of fertilizers locally as well create employment in the state.
According to him, in previous years, the blending company produced between 20, 000 to 25, 000 metric tonnes.
“The 30, 000 metric tonnes if produced could suffice all farmers in the state and also be sold out to other states.
Misau said the company would procure raw materials from the PFI in February this year adding that production would begin immediately after materials are available.
“We are the only operational blending plant in the entire north east. Therefore, our market covers the entire region.
“Last year Adamawa state government bought from us, Gombe state government in 2018, 2019 bought from us.
“We are selling to farmers in plateau, Kaduna, Nasarawa and even Benue state”. He noted.
The chairman revealed that the blending plan uses a generator for 24 hours during production of the fertilizer.
He enumerated lack of energy, manpower, availability of raw materials and labour are the basic challenges of any industries in the country.
Misau reintrated that industries can generate revenues and provide employment to teeming youths, urging the government to provide a conducive atmosphere for manufacturing companies in the nation to thrive.
The Executive Chairman commended the staff of the blending Company for putting in their best to see that the company strived.
