Bauchi Gov. Donates N2m to families of Canoe mishap in Bauchi

The Bauchi State government has donated N2 million to the families that died in the canoe that killed 18 people in Itas Gadau local government area of the state.
The State Governor Bala Mohammed who was represented by his Deputy Senator Baba Tela led other top government officials on a condolence visit to the area.
He sympathized with the families of the deceased and condoled the people of the area.
He also urged them to take the incident as an act of Allah and prayed Allah’s forgiveness to the dead one.
Tela announced the relief fund of 2 million naira to the affected family members.
Speaking on behalf of the community, the District Head of Itas ,Alh Mohammmed Sagir Abdullahi said the canoe was carrying 23 passengers capsized in the middle of Buji river.
“ Which claimed 18 lives that include 16 females and 3 males.
According to him, the accident occurred when the victims were on their way from zangon Majiya village of the local government area to their farm.
Also speaking, the local government Chairman , Alh Abdullahi Maigari expressed appreciation to the government over the condolence visit and prayed to Allah to reward them.
