Buni donates N58m to fallen heroes’ families, 28 injured soldiers in Yobe

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has donated N58 million to families of soldiers killed in the recent Boko Haram attack on the 27 Task Force Brigade at Buni/Gari in Gujba Local Council of the state.
“The 28 wounded soldiers will’ receive N1 million from the state government.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the governor, Mamman Mohammed, made available to newsmen on Friday in Damaturu.
“The family of the fallen heroes is given ₦2 million, totaling ₦30 million for their daily stipends and welfare.
He added that Buni also announced the disbursement of N1 million each to the 28 wounded soldiers in the Buni/Gari attack at his country home, 54 kilometres south of Damaturu, the state capital.
He said that Buni visited Task Force Brigade headquarters to sympathise with the military and support troops in the ongoing counterterrorism operations in Sambisa Forest.
The statement said that the fallen heroes did not die in vain, but they were defending the country for all of us to live peacefully in the various communities.
As part of Buni’s efforts in boosting the morale of troops, Mamman disclosed, “Another N50 million donation was made to the troops of 27 Task Force Brigade along with the distribution of food items, mattresses, blankets, and other basic needs in the front lines.
The statement said the governor also assured the troops and other security agencies of the state government’s continued support in fighting terrorism by reinforcing security around the Task Force Brigade headquarters.
The brigade commander, General Usman Ahmed, appreciated Buni for his exceptional concerns and the support of troops in the front lines of the forest and the communities.
