In order to have hitch-free Orientation Course of 2021 Batch, A stream II against Covid-19 Pandemic, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has commenced fumigation of a temporary orientation camp located in Amanda Village, Gombe state.
The State Coordinator, Mrs Ada Imoni, stated this while speaking during the exercise at the Orientation Camp on Saturday.
She said that the fumigation exercise is in collaboration between NYSC and Gombe State Environmental protection Agency (GOSEPA), to fumigate the camp ahead of the 2021 Batch A Stream II Orientation Course, scheduled for Tuesday 18th May 2021.
The State Coordinator who was represented by Camp Director, Mr Emmanuel Oibe, said the fumigation became necessary in view of the existing Covid 19 Pandemic.
She added that her organization is committed to ensuring corps members well being, adding that there was a need to follow the guidelines strictly as directed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and NYSC Management.
“The welfare of Corps members and other camp participants is our priority. Covid 19 is still with us and we must not rest on our oars.
“The fumigation will also take care of reptiles and insects. It is pertinent to give Camp participants a conducive environment throughout the Orientation Course.”
