Deadly Blow to Terror: Haram Commander Abu Fatima Killed in Kukawa Strike
In a decisive victory against insurgency, Special Forces under Operation HADIN KAI have eliminated one of Boko Haram/ISWAP’s most wanted commanders, delivering a major setback to terrorist leadership in North East.
Acting on credible intelligence, troops launched a high-precision raid on May 30, 2025, targeting a major terrorist enclave in the Kukawa axis of Northern Borno State. The operation’s primary objective was to neutralize Amir Abu Fatima, a notorious terror kingpin with a ₦100 million bounty on his head.
Following an intense firefight, Abu Fatima was fatally struck by gunfire. His second-in-command, several explosives experts, and numerous fighters were also neutralized in the assault.
Recovered at the scene were several AK-47 rifles, loaded magazines, improvised explosive device (IED) components, and assorted military ordnance—tools of terror now removed from the battlefield.
Remarkably, the mission was executed without a single casualty among Nigerian troops, underscoring the precision and professionalism of the Armed Forces.
Military authorities have hailed the operation as a turning point in the ongoing fight against terrorism, affirming the Armed Forces of Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to restoring lasting peace across the region.
