Participants from the Air Force War College (AFWC) have embarked on an international study tour to Morocco and Türkiye, in a bid to enhance their understanding of global geopolitics and military-industrial dynamics
The tour according to the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet focused on exploring the complexities of international politics, security, and interdependence among modern nation-states, with a specific emphasis on the military-industrial complexes of the two host countries.
Themed “Military Industrial Complex and National Development: Lessons for Nigeria,” the study tour aimed to equip participants with valuable insights into the technological advancements, manufacturing capabilities, and strategic leveraging of military-industrial complexes in Morocco and Türkiye.
The goal was to draw lessons that could inform Nigeria’s own path towards strengthening its defense industry and fostering sustainable national development.
Upon their return, participants presented their findings, highlighting the unique strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) observed in each country.
These insights Gabkwet said, will guide the Nigerian Air Force’s strategic planning and decision-making processes, optimizing its military-industrial capabilities to address evolving challenges in the global security landscape.
