FAWOYDI, train Women CBOs on management, report writing skills in Bauchi

An NGO Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI) with the support ActionAid and Canada Global Affairs have trained women Community Based organisations (CBOs) on management and report writing skills in Bauchi.
The Executive Director FAWOYDI Hajiya Maryam Garba while declaring the three days training open Tuesday in Bauchi Bauchi said the training skills are imperative to the management of projects in the communities.
She said FAWOYDi was supported under the women voice and livelihood project that consists of women participation in politics, fighting sexual gender-based violence and women empowerment.
Garba explained that the exercise was aimed at providing enhanced skills to women in CBOs on management and report writing in some of the local government areas of the state.
According to her, the project which will last for five years was designed to teach the participants how to plan and execute the project successfully.
She said 30 women selected from 12 community-based organizations were attending the workshop to enhance their skills on managing their projects effectively.
Hajiya Maryam added that aside from women’s involvement in leadership, the program is also geared towards empowering women economically and addressing gender-based issues.
“At the end of the training, the participants should be able to stand on their own. It is my belief that after this exercise, they will be able to learn more and execute their projects smoothly”. She noted.
The Executive Director urged them to step down the training to others in their various organizations and communities.
Earlier, Mr Godwin Okpe the program officer with FAWOYDI on Women voice livelihood project emphasized the skills provision will give women the knowledge to manage organisation and projects effectively.
He said at the end of the training the participants are expecting to know much about projects planning, measuring monitoring, evaluation and implementation.
