Five Soldiers Killed, Many Injured as Terrorists Launch Attacks on Kareto Village
Boko Haram, an Islamic extremist group, launched a multi-axis attack on Kareto Village, overpowering the 149 Battalion, resulting in five Nigerian soldiers killed in action, 10 wounded, and four still missing.
The terrorists also destroyed significant military equipment, including one MRAP, one gun truck, two excavators, one Shark Man lorry, and one yellow bucket truck.
Additionally, four gun trucks were carted away by the insurgents. The security situation in the area remains volatile, with military authorities closely monitoring developments.
