Flood kills four, two missing in Potiskum Yobe State
Flood killed four people two others missing in the Potiskum local government Area of Yobe State
The flooding of the metropolis followed last Sunday’s intensive rainfall that lasted for over six hours.

The Executive Secretary of State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr Mohammed Goje Confirm the incident on Tuesday in Damaturu.
“Our search and rescue team (SRT); is conducting the flood assessment of damages to both lives and property.”
speaking to Newsmen a resident, Ado Yakubu also said that; “Many of our houses, markets and mosques were flooded and destroyed; including submerged and carrying away many goats and sheep into the River.
“We are at the moment grieving; because an infant in our neighbourhood lost his life in a collapsed building.”
He added that many buildings and public structures in Nahatu and Arikime wards were also destroyed on that fateful night.
“We pray for God’s intervention and to seek the state government’s support to rescue two people still missing,” he said.
The Executive Chairman of Potiskum Council Area, Salisu Muktari has directed his deputy to liaise with the necessary government agencies.

According to him, this will enable the Agencies to support the affected people with relief and building materials.
