Today, December 2nd, 2024, security personnel and journalists across Ghana will cast their votes in the special voting exercise. John Mahama, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), addressed security personnel and journalists, acknowledging their critical roles in maintaining peace and order in Ghana.
“You as security personnel are the backbone of Ghana’s safety. Your roles are pivotal in maintaining peace and order and ensuring that the true voice of the people is heard and respected,” Mahama said.
Mahama praised the security personnel for their dedication, courage, and commitment to building the foundation of democracy in Ghana. He promised that his administration would prioritize improving their working conditions, providing adequate resources, and strongly supporting their critical roles in society.

The NDC candidate also emphasized the importance of upholding the integrity of institutions and protecting freedom of expression. He urged security personnel and journalists to work together to ensure that the rights of every Ghanaian are respected and that they can carry out their duties without fear or favor.
“Together we can ensure that the rights of every Ghanaian are respected and that we foster an environment where you can carry out your duty without fear or favor,” Mahama said.
Mahama reiterated his commitment to providing adequate safety and security for all Ghanaians under his 24-hour economy initiative. This initiative aims to provide decent, well-paying jobs for the youth, women, and Ghanaians in general.
“I reaffirm my determination and commitment to provide adequate safety and security for all Ghanaians under my 24-hour economy initiative,” Mahama said.
Mahama humbly asked for the votes of security personnel and journalists, stating that a vote for him and the NDC is a vote for a safer, stronger, and more united Ghana.
“I humbly ask for your vote in the upcoming special voting exercise. A vote for me and the NDC is a vote for safer, stronger and a more united Ghana,” Mahama said.
