Gombe residents laud Gov Inuwa on township projects execution
Residents of Gombe Metropolis have commended Gov Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state for executing projects in their communities to improve their living standards.
The residents who spoke to our correspondent thronged out on Saturday to cheer the governor who was in their communities on an inspection tour.
Gov Yahaya during the visit inspected the ongoing gully erosion control project to assess the progress and quality of work as well as inspected the ongoing Wuro kesa, the completed Arawa- Kundulum and the Idi- Kasuwan Doya- Babban Layi- Main Market roads as well as the 1.6KM Layin Kerosene- Jubilee junction with spur in Herwagana area, all within Gombe metropolis.
Aminat Ibrahim, a mother of three from Malam-Inna community who spoke to our correspondent said the construction of a 100-bed capacity cottage hospital in Malam-Inna said the ongoing health facility in their community, if completed would help address some of the health issues in their domain.
Ibrahim commended the Governor for bringing the facility to their community, stressing that it would improve access to health which she said was key to healthy living.
She said they had been having some issues but expressed happiness that the governor was listening to the people while urging Gov. Yahaya to help out with some roads leading to the health facility.
Malam Haruna Yusuf of Arawa community said the road construction in several parts of the state was indicative of the fact that the governor is business-minded in terms of serving the people with the resources of the people.
Yusuf said the road which has been marked for construction was commendable and would help ease the difficulties residents face on daily basis.
He said the governor had shown great concerns about the needs of the people and we are “ proud of him for bringing this road project in spite the minimal resources available to work.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after his inspection visits, Governor Yahaya expressed satisfaction with the quality of work being done at all the places visited.
“You saw it yourselves, all the works are moving at good pace and we are catching up with time to reach our destination. The quality is alright and you can see people are happy with the level of development.
“We are determined to deliver on our mandate. This is a government of the masses and for the masses, therefore we shall continue to work assiduously to meet their yearnings and aspirations come rain come shine.
