Title: GONET Calls for Unity, Compassion in Eid-el-Kabir Message to Gombe Citizens
As Muslims in Gombe State, Nigeria, and around the globe mark the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, the Gombe Network of Civil Society Organizations (GONET) has sent a heartfelt message of peace, unity, and compassion to the people.
In a goodwill statement released to commemorate the festival, GONET emphasized the deep spiritual values embedded in the celebration—sacrifice, obedience, compassion, and shared humanity.
“This season offers us a sacred opportunity to reflect on what binds us together as a people,” the message read. “It is not just a time for merriment but for kindness, selflessness, and reaching out to those in need.”
The organization urged Nigerians, especially Gombe residents, to use the Sallah period to pray for national peace, stability, and wise leadership. It also called on the public to support the less privileged—the poor, the displaced, the sick, and other vulnerable groups—by sharing food, love, and hope.
“Let this Sallah not only be a celebration but a time of healing and renewed faith in a better Nigeria,” the group added.
