Gov. Buni tasks permanent secretaries on service deliveries

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has tasked permanent secretaries to be effective and efficient in the service delivery of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to the people.
According to him, Ibrahim Gaji and Baba Gishiwari were also sworn in to serve as members of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC); while Gambo Jimbam was appointed and sworn in as a member of the commission.
Buni gave the charges Tuesday; while swearing-in seven permanent secretaries at the Government House, Damaturu, the state capital.
He urged the secretaries to be guided by the code of ethics and in conformity with the oath of allegiance while delivering services to the people.
“I assure you that this administration will continue to equip and reposition the Civil Service,” he said, noting that this will expedite effective implementation of government policies and programmes.
The new secretaries include Usman Bura, Ali Mustapha, Isa Bukar, Ajiya Musa, Audi Umaru, Abudullahi Abba and Hamidu Isa.
Lawan Bukar was also sworn in yesterday as a permanent member of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (YOSIEC).
“This will also meet the yearnings and aspirations of our people,” he said, adding that secretaries should be proactive with fresh ideas to build an effective synergy with their colleagues.
