He stressed the importance of such collaborative efforts in tackling security challenges and praised the contributions of the security forces towards maintaining law and order.
Furthermore, Governor Mohammed addressed the broader issue of governance in Nigeria, pointing out that the lack of effective local government administration has exacerbated the security situation in the country. He expressed concerns over the ungoverned spaces, particularly in the northern region, which have provided a haven for criminal elements to operate freely.
“The near absence of local government administration in many states has created a vacuum that allows criminals to thrive,” Governor Mohammed remarked. He underscored the need for empowering local government authorities to play a more significant role in addressing security challenges and ensuring the safety of citizens.
Earlier, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) acknowledged the Governor’s efforts in promoting enduring development in the state through infrastructural development and investments in agricultural projects like the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) project.
The SAPZ project he said, remains as a positive initiative that is expected to provide opportunities for food security, job creation, increase the contribution of agriculture to the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and help reduce criminal activities in the state.
Additionally, the CAS visited the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, who commended the SOC for conducting free medical outreaches in the state.
