Gombe state Governor Muhammadu Inuwa has charged the new Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Etim Oqua Effiom, to work assiduously to protect the lives and properties of residents of the State.

The Director-General of Press Affairs Gombe Government House, who disclosed this on Friday in a press statement, said the immediate past CP, Babatunde Ishola Babaita accompanied the new police boss during a visit to the state house.

Governor Inuwa, while formally welcoming the new CP, expressed optimism that Mr Effiom, who had served as CP in charge of Force CID in the State, will use his wealth of experience to nip criminality in the bud.
