Governor Inuwa Yahaya Felicitates with Muslims on Islamic New Year, Calls for Unity and Prayers
Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah in the state and across the globe on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, 1447 AH.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the Islamic New Year as a significant moment for spiritual reflection, renewal and recommitment to the core values of Islam and humanity.
“The beginning of a new Hijri year is an opportunity to reflect on our journey so far, to draw lessons from the past and to embrace the future with renewed hope and stronger faith,” the Governor stated.
He urged the faithful to take advantage of the sacred month of Muharram and beyond to intensify prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity in Gombe State and Nigeria at large.
The Governor also called for special supplications for abundant rainfall and a bumper harvest in this farming season and beyond.
Amidst ongoing economic challenges across the country, the NSGF Chairman emphasized the importance of unity and tolerance among the diverse ethnic and religious communities in Gombe and beyond.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the people, assuring that government will continue to implement people-focused policies and infrastructure projects aimed at improving lives.
“As we begin the new Islamic year, I am optimistic that it will open new doors of opportunity and progress for our dear state and nation. I urge all citizens to remain steadfast in faith, uphold moral values and continue to pray for the peace and prosperity of our land,” Governor Inuwa Yahaya said.
He also encouraged the Muslim Ummah to emulate the spirit of sacrifice, patience and resilience exemplified in the Hijrah (migration) of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as they journey into the new year with faith and hope.
