The Guards Brigade Nigerian Army has successfully concluded “Exercise Enyi Mba” (Mighty Nation), an intensive indoor telephone exercise aimed at enhancing collective strength and combat readiness in the Federal Capital Territory and beyond.
The exercise, which drew to a close at the Guards Brigade 176 Battalion, Andrew Azazi Barracks, Gwagwalada, saw troops from the Guards Brigade and other sister security agencies hone their skills in communication, map reading, battle planning, and decision-making processes.
Commander Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Adebisi Olusegun Onasanya, speaking at the closing ceremony, emphasized the exercise’s significance in achieving the Nigerian Army’s constitutional responsibilities.
“The objective of this exercise is to practice our troops on indoor telephone battles, simulating battle occurrences without leaving the office environment. This ensures that staff officers, soldiers in ops rooms and offices know exactly what to do, and commanders can take decisions quickly,” he explained.
The Commander stressed the importance of synergy between the Armed Forces and other security services, enabling seamless coordination when supporting civil authorities.
“Our aim is to promote a healthy relationship amongst ourselves and other security agencies, ensuring we operate in harmony when called upon to support the nation.”
He highlighted the exercise’s alignment with the Chief of Army Staff’s vision, transforming the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped, and highly motivated force.
He praised the participants for their dedication and hard work, noting that the exercise’s success was a testament to their collective efforts.
