IED explosion kills 4, wounds 10 other passengers in Borno

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have planted an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that exploded along the Maiduguri-Damboa road and killed four passengers and wounded 10 others in Borno.
An Isuzu pickup vehicle with registration number plate DAM 156 XA was conveying passengers from Damboa to Maiduguri when the driver run-over the IED at Komala village in Konduga local council areas of the state.
Confirming the tragic incident, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nahum Daso, yesterday in Maiduguri stated, “The Police Command regrets to report a tragic incident that killed four persons including the driver on June 25, 2025 along the 85-kilometre Damboa road.”
According to him, the bodies of passengers and the wounded ones have been evacuated from the village to the Specialists Hospital, Maiduguri for autopsy and medical treatment. Meanwhile, he stated that normalcy has been restored along the road with the deployment of a joint security team to prevent further attacks.
He further revealed, “Efforts are being put in by the Police EOD-CBRN to investigate the scene of the IED explosion along the road.“
