Kebbi Elders Urge More Developmental Strides, Pledge Support for Gov. Idris’ Vision
By Abdullahi Tukur
The Kebbi Elders Development Forum has called on the state government to intensify its efforts in implementing people-centred developmental projects to elevate the state’s competitiveness on the national stage.
This appeal was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the forum’s recent meeting and presented to journalists by its Director General, Comrade Faruq Abdullahi Maiyama.
The Forum commended Governor Nasir Idris for his administration’s “giant developmental strides” over the past two years, noting that visible progress has been made across critical sectors.
To build on this momentum, the Forum disclosed that it has constituted a committee to advise the government on strategic areas, including agriculture, education, health, solid mineral development, and security.
Maiyama emphasized that the Forum is a non-political, non-ethnic body made up of respected elders from across the state, committed solely to advising the government on policies that promote inclusive development and lasting progress.
The communiqué further urged residents of the state to remain united and actively engage with the government by offering constructive advice that benefits the common good.
“We must rise above sentiments and focus on what will move Kebbi forward. Only through unity and open dialogue can we truly shape a better future for our people,” Maiyama said.
