Kebbi NUJ Honours State Accountants General With Award of Excellence

The Kebbi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Sunday presented an award of excellence to the state accountant general, Alhaji Bello Ibrahim Nahaliku, in recognition of his humanitarian services to the people of the state and support to the media.
Presenting the award, the State Council Chairman, Comrade Bello Sarki Abubakar, highlighted Nahaliku’s outstanding contributions to the development of Kebbi State and its people.
He said the accountant general’s sterling qualities, philanthropic gesture, and friendly disposition to journalists were inspiring and commendable.
The Council Chairman, during the official visit to the accountant general with other state executive members, informed him about the Council’s support initiative for the widows and children of deceased members of the council, which has become an annual tradition, and called on the AG and other individuals in the state to support the council in its efforts to ameliorate their economic well-being.
While thanking the council for the award and visit to him, the Accountant General commended journalists in the state for the support given to Governor Nasir Idris’s administration and urged journalists practicing in the state to uphold the principles of fairness and also be objective in their reports on state government activities.
He said the administration of Governor Idris in less than two years has demonstrated its commitment to changing the narrative about Kebbi State through the massive transformation it has brought to the state capital, Birnin Kebbi, and sectors of the state’s economy.
