Seyi Bola Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has mobilised 50 medical doctors to support the flood emergency response in Borno State.
The deployment, which took place over the weekend in Maiduguri, aims to address the health crisis caused by severe floods that have ravaged homes and vital infrastructure in Maiduguri and Jere local councils.
Speaking at the unveiling of the health emergency response, Seyi expressed that this visit marks a significant step towards easing the hardships faced by young people and residents impacted by the flooding.
“This is a moment for solidarity, compassion, and immediate action,” he stated, emphasising the urgency of the intervention.
Seyi, alongside his brother Yinka and a group of youths and associates, not only pledged support but also announced a donation of N500 million to the state government on behalf of his friends and associates.
He assured that the rebuilding process would restore the socio-economic activities in Maiduguri, with efforts aimed at reviving livelihoods for affected residents.
Recalling President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to Borno, Seyi highlighted the need for private sector involvement in flood relief efforts.
In addition to medical support, Seyi’s team provided essential supplies, including food, non-food items, and medications aimed at preventing disease outbreaks among the flood victims.
Governor Babagana Zulum expressed gratitude to both the President and Seyi for their swift intervention, assuring that all donations would be effectively used to save lives, particularly those of children and women in the affected areas.
He has also directed the deployment of medical personnel to the hardest-hit communities to prevent potential health crises.
The ongoing support signals a coordinated effort to rebuild Maiduguri and ensure the flood-affected communities emerge stronger.
