A wave of jubilation has swept through the Fufoure/Song federal constituency as Barr. Aliyu Wakili Boya, a member of the House of Representatives, launched an unprecedented “Mega Empowerment” initiative.
The program saw over 10,000 dry-season farmers, women, and youths receive life-changing support to improve their livelihoods.
During the historic event held in Yola, 12 trucks delivered 7,200 bags of 50kg NPK and Urea fertilizers, while 1,000 water pumps and cash incentives of ₦50,000 each were distributed to farmers.
Also Women received 1,000 sewing machine starter packs, 1,000 grinding machines, 1,000 spaghetti-making machines, and 20,000kg of flower for entrepreneurial activities. Additionally, 20,000kg of rice seedlings, 1,000 sachets of weed-control chemicals, and 90,000kg of rice were shared to enhance food security and celebration of the New Year.
Speaking at the event, Boya emphasised that the empowerment aligns with the federal government’s drive to eradicate poverty, bolster the economy, and address food insecurity.
He urged beneficiaries to utilize the items judiciously, highlighting the transformative potential of such initiatives for households and the broader economy.
“This initiative is just the beginning,” Boya assured. “There are more impactful programs on the way to uplift our people.”
Since his election, Boya has been a force for change in his constituency, sponsoring impactful bills like the creation of the Federal College of Education (FCE) Fufoure and rolling out numerous empowerment schemes that have alleviated poverty for thousands.
Idris Shuaibu, Adamawa State APC Chairman, praised Boya’s efforts as a testament to the dividends of democracy under the APC-led government. “Barr. Boya has brought pride to our party by delivering tangible benefits to the people.
This is the true essence of representation,” he said, urging constituents to remain supportive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government.
Mustapha Atiku Ribadu, APC’s organizing secretary in Adamawa, also commended Boya, stating, “Your representation mirrors the progressive vision of our party. We are proud of your unwavering commitment to your people.”
Beneficiaries, including Abdullahi Sabo and Martha Jonathan, described the empowerment as transformative.
“This is a blessing for Fufoure and Song. Barr. Boya is a beacon of hope for us, and we’ll forever support him and the APC,” they said.
The “Mega Empowerment” initiative not only underscores Boya’s dedication to his constituency but also highlights the possibilities of strategic governance in uplifting communities across Nigeria.
