Military Debunks Rumors of French Military Base in North East
The Defence Headquarters has dismissed online reports alleging the arrival of French soldiers in Maiduguri to establish a French Military base in North East Nigeria. According to the Armed Forces of Nigeria, this information is “fake, totally false, and mischievous.”
Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa CFR, had previously addressed these rumors in various media forums, debunking the news and speculations. The general public is urged to disregard these rumors, which are believed to be the work of mischief makers.
The military has reassured the public that it will continue to carry out its constitutional responsibilities professionally and ensure the territorial integrity of the nation. This statement is in line with General Musa’s recent affirmation that no foreign military base will be allowed in Nigeria.
