In a bid to alleviate the suffering of locals affected by ongoing operations, the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) has launched a 7-day free medical outreach program in Sector 1, Cameroon. The program, which commenced on June 26, 2024, has brought much-needed medical care to the doorsteps of residents in Darak, Kofia, Hile Alifa, and Soueram in extreme North Cameroon.
Hundreds of locals have benefited from medical consultations, free drugs, and treatments, thanks to the outreach program. The initiative has not only provided a robust community engagement opportunity but has also witnessed an overwhelming response from the locals.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Chief Military Public Information Officer, HQ MNJTF, the medical outreach is a pivotal step in relieving the healthcare burden on communities with limited access to medical facilities. “By addressing immediate healthcare needs, we aim to build trust and cooperation between the military and local populations,” he said.
The program is part of Operation Lake Sanity 2’s civil-military cooperation activities, which underscores the MNJTF’s commitment to regional stabilization. By providing essential healthcare services, the MNJTF is reinforcing its dedication to restoring peace and normalcy in the region while securing the well-being of its inhabitants.
