NGO’s organised public hearing in Borno, youth demand more inclusion in public services and governance
Code in partnership with Action Aid and Yiaga Africa has conducted a public hearing on the third phase of the Youth Organising Leadership project, the campaign is focused on young people and people living with disabilities in six selected States (Abuja, Akwa-Ibom, Borno, Enugu, Kaduna, and Lagos) and provided support for the development of a strategic document that highlighted the challenges of youths in these states.

In the last two years of implementation of this campaign, the public hearing with the theme” “Enhancing Youth Participation for Sustainable Development” is aimed at strengthening youth focus public service delivery, partnership and solutions to issues affecting young people.
Speaking at the event CODE’s representative, Mukhtar Modibbo said the hearing was organised to aid communication between government and the youths.

During the panel discussion, the representative of national youth council Tanimu advocates for youth inclusion in governance. He also urged the government to be proactive with issues regarding youth and their needs to enhance sustainability in the state.
