NGO, T Y Foundation train 200 teachers on quality teaching in Bauchi

An NGO, Fahimta Women and Youth Development Initiative (FAWOYDI) based in Bauchi in collaboration with T.Y Danjuma Foundation had trained 200 teachers on quality assurance school supporting offices among others in Bauchi.
Hajiya Maryam Garba, the executive director of the Group, speaking during the closing of the 4-day training in Bauchi on Thursday said that the participants were selected from selected local government areas of the state.
She said, “We are determined to build their capacities for positive impact.”
Garba added that other areas to be covered during the training would include classroom management, behavioural change communication, coaching, and mentoring.
She said that the training was organised in collaboration with the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation.

According to her, the foundation has recently supported the construction of additional primary schools in Gamawa, Dass, and Darazo Local Government Areas of Bauchi State.
She said that her organisation was committed to developing the capacities of teachers to enhance effective teaching and learning in schools.
Mr Terso Akula, an official of the T.Y. Danjuma Foundation, congratulated the participants for the rare opportunity and urged them to make judicious utilisation of the knowledge they would acquire during the training.
He said that the training would impact positively both the teachers and the pupils, especially, on curriculum delivery and its implementation in schools.
Akula described the poor quality of the products coming out of primary schools as saddening and unfortunate, especially, considering the huge investment being made in the sector.
“Our foundation will continue to partner relevant stakeholders toward transforming the education sector for the better,” he said.
Our correspondent reports that the participants were drawn from Tafawa Balewa, Dambam, Bauchi, and Katagum Local Education Authorities of the state.
