Nigeria @ 63: “Every citizen should contribute towards a better nation” – Joshua Selman advises
By Jennifer S. Kuwanta
The founder of Koinonia Global, Apostle Joshua Selman has urged citizens to work towards achieving a better Nigeria by contributing their own quota to ensure national growth.
The gospel minister made this known in his sermon on Sunday in Abuja, noting that the government can’t do everything for everyone; so it’s expected that every citizen is up and doing to create a better nation.
He said that the nation cannot provide jobs for every single individual and as such everyone need to be innovative to empower themselves with reasonable skills, and do away with extravagant lifestyles.

Selman also advised that for a nation to become great, there is need for a robust security architecture in the country.
In his words, “Any government that fails to protect life and property has failed. A country that is unsafe won’t encourage growth, development and international investments.”
He went on to encourage the government and private individuals to invest in the educational sector. Giving it a top-notch priority, quality assurance and teaching young ones leadership and oratory skills from an early stage.
Apostle Selman additionally stated the need for economic empowerment of organizations, families and individuals, saying anyone economically incapacitated will remain a burden to their community and families.
He went on to advise against the mentality of entitlement amongst Nigerians who always feel the government or their families should do everything for them.
He also advised against a total dependency mindset. “No nation can be economically emancipated with a dependency mentality”, he said.
