Northern Senators Applaud Tinubu’s Leadership in Ordering Release of Detained Minor Protesters
The Northern Senators’ Forum has commended President Bola Tinubu for his leadership in ordering the release of minors detained during the recent #EndBadGovernance protests.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Sen. Abdulaziz Yar’adua, the Chairman of the Northern Senators’ Forum, praised Tinubu’s directive as a significant step toward safeguarding the rights and well-being of Nigerian youth.
Yar’adua highlighted the President’s instruction to the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, to expedite the minors’ release, describing it as a “welcome development” and a clear commitment to justice.
“We appreciate the President’s proactive leadership in addressing this critical matter,” Yar’adua said. “I would also like to recognize the northern leaders who have tirelessly advocated for the release of these minors, ensuring their welfare remains a priority.”
He further called on northern leaders to continue prioritizing youth safety, education, and well-being, emphasizing the importance of creating a nurturing environment where young Nigerians can thrive without fear of harm or exploitation.
“By working together to support our youth, we can foster a generation ready to contribute positively to Nigeria’s development,” Yar’adua added.
