NSCDC arrests 8 suspects for allegedly vandalising railway slippers, petroleum pipeline in Bauchi

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Bauchi Command has arrested eight suspects for allegedly vandalising railway slippers, petroleum pipelines and fake currency notes in the State.
The commander of the Corps, Mr Ileboye Olajide stated this while parading the suspects on Thursday in Bauchi , saying that suspects are of three categories of offenses in one week.
According to him, today we are parading different kinds of offenses that were arrested last week. We got information from our people on the field that some people are vandalising railway sleepers at one village known as Dangubi village along Gombe road.

“Immediately we moved to the area and ran against them.We caught them with the 33 already removed slippers.The people involved, they were actually four two arrested two at large.
“The second category of five suspects were those involved in the case of vandalisation of a petroleum pipeline at one village, known as Kangere village along Gombe road in Bauchi local government who were handed over to the command by the Nigerian army artillery.
“Exhibit recovered from them are four motorcycles, different 25 liters of petroleum and about ten empty jerricans were recovered from them and they were actually caught on the act where they actually siphoned the petroleum product and confessed to the act,” he said
The commander added that “The third category of suspect was one dealing in fake dollars who was arrested with 2000 fake dollars in his house from an information provided by a woman he previously gave the same fake 100 dollars.
He said the suspects would be handed over to relevant agencies after investigation for possible prosecution.
Olajide however warned that those nursing the idea of vandalising national infrastructure should think twice as they will not go Scott free under his watch.
