The Borno State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Yusufu, has assured residents of hitch-free and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir festivities across the state.
According to him, the command has rolled out tight security measures to protect people’s lives and property before, during, and after the Sallah festivities.
Revealing the hitch-free Sallah in Maiduguri, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nahum Daso, stated, “Our police commissioner, Mohammed Yusufu, has extended his warmest greetings with a goodwill message to the Muslim faithful,” urging them to celebrate the Sallah peacefully and responsibly in the spirit of harmony and unity.
Already, he added that the command’s security network has been adopted with the deployment of personnel to praying grounds, roads, recreational centres, mosques, and other public spaces in the state.
On a hitch-free Sallah, the police chief revealed, “The coordinated approach to public safety comprises collaboration with stakeholders and other security agencies to protect people’s lives and property during and after the Sallah.
He urged worshippers to pray in mosques located in their respective communities, as it will ease crowd control to ensure their safety.
He also advised car owners to lock the vehicles to prevent them from being stolen or vandalised by the miscreants. Parents and guardians are to be cautious about their children that accompany them to crowded areas and public gatherings.
He noted that for a hitch-free Sallah, public members are to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and cooperative with the police and other security agencies.
