Ramadan: Buni distributes tons of food items to Yobe inmates

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has distributed tons of assorted food items to inmates across the correctional facility centres in the state.
According to him, government is committed to the welfare and health of inmates serving their jail terms at the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) centres in the state.
In a statement issued over the weekend in Damaturu, Alhassan Mamudo, the Chief Information Officer in the Ministry of Justice, stated, ” Executive Secretary of the Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy, Ali Adam Musa on behalf of the state government presented the food items for distribution.”
Besides the Ramadan palliatives, Mamudo said that the advisory council also organizes counselling sessions and religious lectures for the inmates at Ramadan.
He said the food items comprise assorted grains, sugar, cooking oil, and other basic needs to break their daily fast. Musa commended the state government for supporting thousands of inmates during each years’ fasting period.
He, therefore, urged them to use the holy month of March, as an opportunity for self-reflection and repentance.
He emphasised that, “God loves those who seek forgiveness and follow the path of righteousness.“
