Security: Permanent secretary donates unit office, uniforms to VGN in Taraba
A Permanent Secretary, Bureau for local government and chieftaincy affairs in Taraba State, Alhaji Bello Yero has erected an office at Takanaban Unit for the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), inJthego local government area of the state.
The event took place at Takanaban in Kachalla Sambe Ward of Jalingo local government area of the state.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Chairman of Jalingo local government council, Hon. Abdul Nasir Bobboji described the gesture by Yero as an act of encouragement to members of VGN who sacrificed their comforts for others to sleep with their two eyes closed by supporting the police and other security agents in curtailing crimes in society.
He praised the Permanent Secretary over the gesture and called on not only well to do individuals but every member of the society to at least be donating some amount of money, no matter how little monthly to VGN members in his community which he said will go a long way in gingering them to continue carrying out their voluntary service to the society.
The Taraba State VGN Commandant, Bello Arabi who was represented by the Deputy Commandant and Director Finance, Mr. Dominic Kabanya appreciated the gesture and reiterated their commitment toward continuously supporting the police and other security agencies in curbing crimes across the state.
In his speech, the VGN Commandant of Jalingo local government area Command, Commander Munir Bello disclosed that besides the construction of the office, Bello Yero had also donated uniform to fourteen members of the VGN in the unit.

Bello, while appreciating the Permanent Secretary for the gesture also appealed to the influential people in the society to emulate Bello Yero by providing financial assistance to the members of VGN in their various communities to enable them to carry out their duties of assisting security agencies in protecting lives and property of the citizens.
Among those that graced the occasion including Hon. Nasiru Tafida, Member Representing Jalingo II at the Taraba state house of assembly and his counterpart who is representing Gassol II, as well as the Galadiman Muri and District Head of Jalingo, Alhaji Tukur Abba Tukur among others.
