By Lawrence Bilal Audu
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has embarked on a two-week annual leave to the United Kingdom, departing from Abuja today, October 2, 2024. According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, the President will use this period as a working vacation and retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms.
During his stay in the UK, President Tinubu will have the opportunity to recharge and strategize on key economic initiatives. This break comes after his recent official trip to Paris, France, where he engaged in high-profile meetings on the sidelines of the ‘A New Global Financing Pact’ summit hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron.
President Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria after the expiration of his leave, just in time for the upcoming Eid-el-Kabir festival. His administration’s economic reforms have been a focal point, and this retreat will likely provide valuable insight into the next steps.
