The Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru has said that troops’ “morals and motivations” can annihilate Boko Haram insurgency.

Attahiru spoke on Sunday evening, while on a week-long operational visit of Army formations at 7 Division, Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
While inspecting the recovered cache of arms, he said: “The entire theatre has been committed to the special fight against Boko Haram insurgents.
“These are very few of all the recoveries made weapons from Boko Haram terrorists.
“As we continue to attack their adversaries’ destroyed camps, these are some of the things we’ve been able to recover.”
He added that all the recovered weapon systems on display at the 7 Division, Nigerian Army are 63 units of arms, including machine guns, rapidly propelled grenades and mortar tubes.
According to him, these are just very few of the weapon systems that the Army has recovered in two weeks.
“And we’ll continue to do that,” he said; noting that the motivations of troops were to achieve better results towards total annihilation of Boko Haram and insurgency in Nigeria.
Besides the inspection of the recovered cache of arms; Attahiru also visited the Army hospital facility, officers’ mess and the soldiers’ residential apartments at Maimalari Cantonment.
