Yobe begins data capture of PLDs for palliative distribution, support

The Yobe State Government has commenced the biometric data capture of people living with disabilities (PLDs) in 17 Local Government Areas.
While announcing the capture of disabled persons at the weekend in Damaturu, Governor Mai Mala Buni stated that; “You’re to participate fully in the data capture of all PLDs across the state.”

According to him, the exercise was to coordinate an effective distribution of Federal Government palliatives to people living with disabilities in 178 wards.
Presenting a letter from the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) to Buni, the State Coordinator, Comrade; Mohammed Abba Isa; disclosed that the Commission will commence the data capture exercise on Thursday, August 12, 2021, in all the 17 councils.
He explained that the exercise was to capture the list of PLDs in the state for COVID-19 palliatives.
Buni said that it’s an opportunity for disabled persons to benefit from the Federal Government palliatives to improve their living conditions.
“You are advised to cooperate, support and take advantage of this exercise,” he said.
The Coordinator explained that the exercise is to capture the list of persons with disabilities in the state; so as to benefit from the COVID-19 palliatives and other support of the federal government.
“Your captured data would be used for the distribution of palliatives now and in the future,” he said.

He warned that only those who are captured; will be considered in the palliative distribution and support, as it’s crucial to all members.
