Yobe: Education remains top priority- Gov. Buni

Governor Mai Mala Buni, of Yobe State has said education remains the top priority of his administration

The Governor stated this at the Government House Damaturu while receiving the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) under the leadership of Alhaji Kashim Imam who was on a courtesy call.

He also said his government is prioritizing primary and secondary education to ensure that no child of Yobe state misses out on education.

Governor Buni Also appreciated the interventions of TETFUND to the six tertiary institutions in the state,

“We appreciate what TETFUND has been doing in Yobe state, but like Oliver Twist, we are asking for more. Institutions like the state polytechnic Geidam was almost destroyed by insurgents. But we are doing our best and currently, we are rebuilding the institution.”

Also speaking the Chairman TETFUND Board of Trustees Alhaji Kashim Imam, said that TEFUND will invest N8 billion in the six tertiary institutions in the state.

“This is an increase in the intervention of TETFUND in Yobe State institutions.

Alhaji Kashim Imam also commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for providing “exceptional leadership in a difficult situation.
