Youths give Uzodinma two-week ultimatum to identify Gulak’s killers

The Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has tasked Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, to identify the killers of Ahmed Gulak.

Gulak is the ex-aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan on political affairs in the country.

The youths threatened to declare Uzodinma persona non grata in the entire northern states.

The NYCN National President, Isah Abubakar in a statement Sunday in Maiduguri, disclosed: “It’s so pathetic and saddened the continuous killing and lawlessness going on in the South Eastern part of Nigeria.”

He said the Imo state government “must give an account” of those who killed Gulak.

He warned that the continuous killing of Northerners and destruction of security facilities in Imo state will no longer be tolerated.

The group therefore urged the federal government to rise up to its constitutional responsibility of protecting people’s lives and property.

According to him, the Federal Government should act appropriately so as to avoid the current situation from escalating to a civil war.

He explained that the government should take note that it would not allow the killer(s) of Gulak to go unpunished, stating that  that; “The Imo state Governor, who is the chief security officer, must bring those involved in the assassination to justice.

Continuing, he said: “Let us state categorically that northern youths will do everything within their powers to force the government of Imo State to bring the perpetrators of this crime to justice.

He said the Governor and other South East Governors should take note that youths will not accept the continuous killing of northerners and their elites in the region.

The youths’ group also threaten to take revenge henceforth.
