Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has pledged scholarships for children of eight slain Civilian JTF along the Marte-Dikwa road in the state. Members of the Civilian JTF were killed when their patrol vehicle ran over an improvised explosive device (IED) last Wednesday.
The scholarship pledges were made in Maiduguri at a condolence visit of the families of fallen CJTF heroes in the Fezzan community on Friday.
“I also announced an additional N5 million each to the families of the fallen heroes for their daily stipends, including support to the families of slain heroes that do not have children,” he said.
Zulum described the fallen heroes as martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defending their communities against terrorism and kidnapping, stating, “Their gallantries would never be forgotten by the government and people of the state.”
The governor also prayed for the repose of their souls and urged their families to bear the irreparable loss with strength and fortitude.
