Air Force Chief Boosts Morale with New Vehicles for Warrant Officers

In a move to prioritize personnel welfare and uphold military traditions, Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar has presented nine Air Warrant Officers with new pickup vehicles at a ceremony at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Base in Asokoro, Abuja on June 11, 2024.
The CAS emphasized the importance of human resources, stating that personnel are the most critical asset in any organization. He noted that the welfare and motivation of personnel are critical factors in ensuring that the NAF meets its goals and aspirations.

AWOs are a selected breed of distinguished Senior Non-Commissioned Officers who maintain regimentation and discipline, uphold military ethics and traditions, and serve as mentors to their subordinates. The CAS praised their selfless service and exemplary lifestyle, which is quintessential to the efficiency and effectiveness of the Service.
The CAS urged the AWOs to continue communicating the needs of their subordinates to superior authorities, informing impactful policy decisions.
He also commissioned a garden and park and a state-of-the-art sewage treatment plant to provide a clean and healthy environment for personnel and their families.
The sewage treatment plant, executed by NAF Investment Limited Group of Companies and NAF Housing and Construction Company, consists of six sewage treatment plants and six lift stations. The CAS appealed to residents to handle the system responsibly and report any suspicious activities to ensure the sustainability of the infrastructure.
The event was attended by Branch Chiefs, Directors, and other senior officers from HQ NAF, as well as the Managing Director of BIOTECH, Mr. Aena Talabi, and other BIOTECH staff members.
The presentation of vehicles and commissioning of facilities demonstrate the CAS’ commitment to enhancing personnel welfare and operational effectiveness through investments in human and physical capital.
