By Ahmed Ahmed
All Progressive Congress (APC) Chieftain in Bauchi state Alhaji Salisu Ahmed Barau has urged Governor Bala Mohammed to rather than chasing shadows should concentrate more on pledges and promises made to the citizens of the state
Barau, who was on Thursday reacting to the Governor’s Mohammed statement made while interacting with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ward leaders in Alkaleri Local Government Area, his home local government weekend.
It could be recalled that the Governor said “I want to warn the people of Bauchi State against electing non-indigenes, especially those coming from Cameroon as they don’t have anything to offer for your development,”
Ahmed Barau, who is also the Chairman Media and Publicity Committee of the Sadiq Baba Abubakar Campaign organization, called on the Governor to concentrate on providing dividends of democracy to the people.
“Rather than chasing shadows, he should focus more on pledges and promises he made and which he could fulfill.
“It is not surprising to see somebody who is about to get drawn in a river, even if you give him a knife he will hold it
“My principal Sadiq Baba Abubakar is his nightmare and threat politically in the state,” he said
According to him, in as much as politics is concerned, I am disappointed with my elder brother, the governor who has a PDP background and has knowledge of the same scenario played out in 2003 or so.
“When Isa Yuguda was vying for governorship, then the Incumbent Governor Ahmadu Muazu, also my elder brother, humiliated Yuguda and refused him form to contest, the Malam went to another party and won the election.
“So as a governor of the state, looking at his traditional background one will be surprised to hear him say this.
“He should talk with decorum and should be accommodating, he is supposed to be the father of all especially as the governor coming from the house is supposed to be accommodating, a symbol of unity and cohesion,” he said.
He urged the public to go through the profile of those that want to contest for governorship and see who is not indigent of the state.
“Look at the caliber of the people of Babayo Talban Katagum, Faruq Umar, all from Katagum , Yusuf Tuggar who was a reps Member now Ambassador,
“Take a look at my Principal AVM Sadig Baba Abubakar who rose through the ranks to be 3-star general and chief of Air Staff, now Ambassador. Would You look at these people and say they are not indigent,”
Ahmed Barau however advised the governor to go and concentrate on what he promised the citizens. adding that definitely APC would restle power from PDP in the state.
The Chairman Media and Publicly call on supporters to remain calm. and should continue to be law-abiding.
