Bauchi Assembly Urges New Works Commissioner to Ensure Quality Projects
The Bauchi State House of Assembly has tasked the newly appointed Commissioner for Works and Transport, Titus Saul Ketkukah, with prioritizing quality infrastructure development across the state.
The House also advised the commissioner to embrace inclusive leadership and remain focused on delivering impactful projects.
Deputy Speaker Jamilu Dahiru made this known in a statement following a visit by the House Committee on Works and Transport to the commissioner on Monday in Bauchi.
He emphasized the need for Ketkukah to engage all stakeholders in decision-making while steering clear of distractions such as baseless gossip and unwarranted criticism that could hinder progress.
“Leadership demands focus, resilience, and a commitment to public service. Your priority should be delivering projects that benefit the people,” Dahiru stated.
Committee Chairman Adama Kawu, who led the delegation, said the visit was to foster collaboration following Ketkukah’s appointment by Governor Bala Mohammed.
He urged the commissioner to ensure that all road construction projects meet the highest standards of durability and efficiency, noting that well-built roads enhance transportation, economic activities, and overall public welfare.
Committee member Bala Abdu-Rishi also stressed the importance of sincerity, dedication, and excellence in executing development projects.
He reiterated that the Ministry of Works plays a crucial role in driving infrastructural progress, particularly in road construction and maintenance.
