Boko Haram abducts seven people in Borno
Boko Haram terrorists have abducted seven people from the Ngamma community of Magumeri Local Council in Borno state.
The abduction followed the terrorists’ storming of Ngamma village on March 2, 2023, in the northwestern part of the council area.
A counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed yesterday (Saturday) in Maiduguri that the suspected terrorists kidnapped three men and four women at gunpoint.
“After the villagers were abducted on Thursday evening, they have ferried away towards Gudumbali, a border community with the Niger Republic,” he said.
He added that the insurgents would later demand ransom from the families of the seven abductees.
A military source in Maiduguri also confirmed that “the Boko Haram terrorists have been exposed to hunger and hardship due to the consistent attacks by the Nigerian military and its rival faction, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP),” stating that they were forced to kidnap people for ransom.
According to the military, over 300 Boko Haram, terrorists surrendered in a week to the troops of the Nigerian Army in the Konduga, Bama, and Mafa councils in the state.
“The ISWAP terrorists dislodged the strongholds of Boko Haram at Gaizuwa in the axis of Mantari-Gabchari-Maimusari in the Bama local council of the state.
