The Cultural Middle-Belt Political Forum convened today at the NUJ Press Center in Jos, Plateau State, to inform journalists about their endorsement related to the local government elections set for October 9
“We address you today as the Coalition of the Cultural Middle-Belt Political Forum, underscoring our commitment to the development and progress of Plateau State,” stated representatives at the event.
As emerging leaders from the Middle-Belt region, they emphasized the vital role that local government elections play in shaping the future of their communities.
The upcoming elections present a crucial opportunity to elect leaders who align with their vision for grassroots development, inclusive governance, economic growth, and effective solutions to security challenges, all while fostering a sense of belonging among residents.
Prince Ibrahim David, the state chairman of the Cultural Middle-Belt Political Forum, announced that after thorough consideration, assessments, and discussions with stakeholders, they have decided to endorse all candidates for chairmanship and councilorship from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the October 9 elections.
He explained that their endorsement reflects the unwavering commitment of Governor Caleb Mutfwang to grassroots development in Plateau State. “His administration’s focus on empowering local communities and fostering inclusive growth resonates strongly with our values,” he said.
They said, in just over a year in office, Governor Mutfwang has initiated significant grassroots development efforts, demonstrating a genuine commitment to local needs and empowerment, which aligns with the forum’s goals for community-driven progress.
The forum praised Governor Mutfwang’s inclusive governance, noting that he ensures representation for diverse nationalities within the Middle-Belt region in his administration.
They highlighted his economic strategies, which prioritize job creation, infrastructure development, and sustainable growth—elements considered essential for the prosperity of the region.
The Cultural Middle-Belt Political Forum also recognized notable achievements under Governor Mutfwang, including improvements in rural infrastructure, education, healthcare services, empowerment programs for youth and women, agricultural promotion, and prioritizing security and citizen welfare.
They called upon all Middle-Belt citizens to support all 17 PDP chairmanship and 325 councilorship candidates, advocating for a decisive victory for the PDP on October 9.
“Join us in uniting to build a brighter future for our communities and to ensure a prosperous Plateau State and Middle-Belt region,” they urged.
This endorsement represents a pivotal moment in their collective effort toward a better Plateau State, with confidence that the endorsed candidates will advocate for the interests of their communities and address local challenges effectively.
