Football development: We’ve transferred 13 lads to European clubs- Mailantarki FC
In just one year of its existence, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mailantarki Care Football Club, Hon Khamisu Ahmed Mailantarki said no fewer than 13 young and talented Nigerian players had been transferred to various European clubs to continue their careers in football.
Mailantarki stated this during a victory dinner organised by Bilaad Realty, pioneers of sustainable real estate solutions in Nigeria, on Thursday in Abuja to celebrate his club’s successes in the 2022 European Tour in both Denmark (Dana Cup) and Norway (Norway Cup) championships.
Our correspondent reports that Mailantarki Care Football Club in their recent trips to participate in both youth championships in Denmark and Norway set a new world record of being the first team to win both trophies with unbeaten records scoring 39 goals in Denmark’s Dana Cup and 35 goals in Norway Cup in 8 matches respectively.
In his brief remarks, the President and CEO of the Mailantarki Care FC highlighted the achievements of his club in its one year of existence while assuring a brighter future.
Mailantarki who is also the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Gombe State for the 2023 general election said his investments to empower youths through football were yielding positive results.
He rated high his club’s achievement in the areas of scouting programmes across States in the country, finishing top of the NLO group stage and waiting for NNL promotional play-off; successfully transferring no fewer than 13 players to various European clubs, Successful outings in European tours.
The football enthusiast revealed that plans were underway to construct world-class sports facilities to be known as Mailantarki Sports Complex in Abuja.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Bilaad Realty which is also the official partner of Mailantarki Care FC for the 2022 European Tour, Aliyu Aliyu said that the reason behind organising the dinner was to celebrate the glorious team for their feat in winning both trophies in Denmark and Norway.
Aliyu said his company was part of the sponsors for the European trip while restating his commitment to continuing in that light towards “grassroots football development through Mailantarki Care Sports Academy to ensure that the desire of the academy to put Nigerian youths on the world map is achieved.”
The real estate company also presented gifts and prizes to club officials and players while three players received exceptional prizes for their scintillating performances.
The players include Miko Dalha, the highest goal-scorer with eight goals in the Dana Cup and MVP; Emmanuel Michael Papo, MVP of Norway Cup and Abdulazeez Maiyadi highest goal-scorer with 12 goals in the Norway Cup.
Our correspondent also reports that football administrators who graced the colourful events include the Chief Operating Officer COO of the country’s apex league governing body, the League Management Company (LMC) Malam Salihu Abubakar, Nationwide League One (NLO) Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mr Shola Ogunnowo, Chairman of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Abuja chapter Mr Bunmi Haruna.
