By Matthew Eloyi
A political support and socio-economic advocacy group, Fusion 774 has lambasted Garus Gololo over his claim that the regime of former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd) recorded “the worst leadership” in the Army.
In a press statement issued by the Director-General of Fusion 774, Sadik Jikta, the group described Gololo’s claim as a reckless show of misleading and insolence, and that his “unguarded statement does not portray him as a thorough breed military man.”
The group noted that the former COAS has been results-oriented and an achiever with much to his credit, adding that “he discharged his responsibility as COAS effectively and defended the sanctity of this Country, commanding from the front line with integrity, bravery and valour.”

The group recalled that during Buratai’s regime as COAS, he brought to an end the rampant spate of bombing in the country and reclaimed all territories (LGAs) under the control of Boko-haram elements back to the Nigerian Government.
According to the press statement, it is an indisputable fact that the Nigerian Army witnessed some level of reformation and massive infrastructure development under Buratai’s watch.
It added that Buratai exhibited an open-door policy of good governance, where private citizens with any contribution to security issues are given a listening ear and action taken.
The group described Buratai as a courageous leader who has the intellectual and practical know-how to bring the much-needed solution to the security challenge and the desired development to the country, adding that his sterling qualities and qualification is enough to vie for any high office in the country.
The group also noted that Buratai contributed to the victory of the Tinubu/Shettima mandate by sponsoring support groups to work for Tinubu, adding that he was a member of the dissolved Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
