Gombe Governor to Chair 10th Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture in Maiduguri

The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, is set to preside over the 10th Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture and Presentation of Merit Awards on Saturday in Maiduguri, Borno State.
Organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in collaboration with the Borno State Government, the event carries the theme “Creating Pathways for Peace: Tackling Banditry and Insurgency Through Good Governance for Sustainable Development.”

Dignitaries expected to participate include the Vice President of Nigeria, Sen. Kashim Shettima, Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Prof. Tijjani Muhammad Bande, members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers, and other eminent Nigerians who will deliver presentations during the lecture. Governor Babagana Umara Zulum will host the event.
Speaking on the significance of the occasion, Governor Yahaya emphasized the importance of addressing security challenges in the region through effective governance and sustainable development initiatives.
“This lecture provides a platform for constructive dialogue on strategies to combat banditry and insurgency while promoting peace and development in our communities,” Governor Yahaya remarked.
The event aims to foster collaboration among stakeholders in advancing peacebuilding efforts and achieving sustainable development goals in Nigeria’s northern region.
